RCED brought back Launch & Grow this month! It’s a quarterly business event that brings those looking to start businesses together with current business owners to launch business ideas and grow current businesses.
At the event, attendees learned about the first two topics in “13 Ways To Kill Your Community“, a book by author Doug Griffiths. Griffths spoke at last years Dane G. Hansen Forum, so the group watched the first fifteen minutes of his recorded presentation and then worked through a list of questions on how the topics applied to the communities and businesses.
The first “Way” is Forget the Water. The book states, “Water is the foundational resource on which communities are built. Without water you die. People simply expect good-quality water.”
While it seems like an outdated concept that most people take for granted, communities need to pay attention to water since communities cannot house residents, foster businesses, or do much of anything without water.
